Get to Know Jesus Totally

by Pastor Dean A. Brown

John 1:1,14
Everything that Jesus said and did when He walked on this earth is a reflection of who He is. Notice I didn’t say “who He was” but “who He is.” That’s because He still remains the same (Hebrews 13:8) today as when He walked on the earth.

There are two very important things we need to do as a result of this revelation.

  1. We need to acquaint ourselves with what He said and what He did while He walk among men.
  2. We need to acquaint ourselves with the writings in the Epistles so that we might increase in our knowledge of Him.

You might ask “Why is the second so important?” The answer, if you can accept it will revolutionize your life. More…

I Stand Because of THE PROMISE

by Pastor Dean A. Brown

In 1993, after many years of preparation, I stepped in to the third phase of what I call my journey of obedience. Phase one began in 1981, when I was called into the ministry and instructed to step away from the college I had started attending for the sake of the ministry. Most people didn’t understand it, and some even opposed it. What they didn’t know was that I had struggled with God’s instruction. I didn’t want to do it. I argued my case. I told Him why I didn’t want to be in ministry. I pressed against His will because it didn’t flow with what my perceptions and desires were. This continued until one fateful night when I heard in my spirit the voice of my Father “Read Ecclesiastes 11.” In verse 9, I saw what He wanted me to know “Rejoice, O young man, in your youth, and let your heart cheer you in the days of your youth; walk in the ways of your heart, and in the sight of your eyes; but know that for all these God will bring you into judgment.” After reading that verse, in spite of my fears, I made my decision; I obeyed God. After making my decision in December of that year, it would be almost 7 years before I would receive further instructions from God. It wasn’t easy but I didn’t change my mind because I HAD HEARD FROM GOD. More…

A Word To Believers

by Pastor Dean A. Brown

I just finished reading the epistles of John and o how blessed I was. Having read 1 John yet again, I am cannot see how anyone reading it can say it, or parts of it were written to the Gnostics. This epistle was clearly written to believers.

For example, some say that 1 John 1:9 isn’t for the believer and therefore we do not need to confess our sins to God as believers because Jesus took care of every sin and therefore nothing is being applied to us or held to our account any more. I’ve heard it taught that it is sin consciousness that causes us to think we need to confess our sins as believers. When as a believer I confess an act of sin, it’s not because I am sin conscious but because I am righteousness conscious. I know that I am the righteousness of God in Christ and I know what that requires of me in my Christian walk. Therefore when I find myself violating that righteous walk, I confess it to Him. More…

New Year’s Eve Service

spoken by and through Pastor Dean A. Brown

We are coming out of an old year and into a new one and so many people’s hearts are failing them for fear; because their eyes are on men. I just want to encourage you before I do anything else; just do what the song says. “Turn your eyes upon Jesus. Look full in His wonderful face, And the things of this earth will grow strangely dim; In the light of His glory and grace.”

He’s the only One you can count on. He’s the only One that we can count on—the only One. Men will fail us. Men are afraid of truth; but He is Truth. Hallelujah. Amen. And it does not matter what’s going on around us, we can trust our God. Let me say that again. It does not matter what’s going on around us, we can trust our God. Amen. Hallelujah. And I can understand why the songwriter wrote, “Only Believe. All things are possible. Only believe.” So as we are closing out this year, I just want to remind you: Keep your eyes on Christ. Keep your eyes on Christ. Ha, Ha, Ha. More…

Have you found your flashpoint? What’s burning on the inside of you? Do you have a desire that is so powerful that you are ready to explode into action to see it come to pass.

I believe that there is something in all of us that God is trying to ignite. A passion that if allowed to burn, will make a significant difference, not only in our own lives but in the lives that we have been called and ordained to touch. The Apostle Paul instructed Timothy with these words in 2 Timothy 2:22(NKJV), “Flee also youthful lusts; but pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.” More…
